Join us in making a difference for foster kids!

Help us reach our fundraising goal today to provide crucial support for kids in foster care.

Foster children often face instability, moving between homes and schools, which disrupts their education and hampers their ability to thrive.

Without support, these kids risk falling behind in school, developing mental health issues, facing future unemployment, and making poor life choices.

Your donation to our fundraiser will help change that. By contributing, you will help The Pyjama Foundation recruit, screen, train, and match a "Pyjama Angel" mentor with a child in care. These mentors read books, play educational games, assist with homework, and more. Most importantly, they empower foster kids with learning, life skills, and confidence.

This Pyjama Day, we'll be wearing our PJs to raise funds for these children. You can make a huge impact by donating today. Every contribution counts!

Thank you for supporting our Pyjama Day fundraiser and making a difference in the lives of foster kids.

Why National Pyjama Day is Close to My Heart

National Pyjama Day is more than just a day to lounge around in your comfiest sleepwear—it's a day that holds deep personal significance for me. As someone who was in foster care until I was adopted at the age of 10, I have seen firsthand the profound impact that support and care can have on a child’s life.

During my time in foster care, I was incredibly fortunate to have foster parents who placed a strong emphasis on education and schooling. This focus on learning and personal growth helped shape the person I am today. However, I know that not all foster children are as lucky. Many of them face significant challenges and lack the opportunities that I had.

Life in foster care can be incredibly difficult. We lived poorly and I vividly remember the constant fear of going hungry, even when that fear was irrational. I would wake myself up in the middle of the night to sneak into the kitchen when I knew there was food. The scarcity extended beyond food, clothing and toys were often shared among us, and many children arrived to the foster home with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

These experiences have stayed with me and have driven my commitment to helping foster children. As an adult, I trained to become a Pyjama Angel, volunteering my time to assist foster kids with their schooling and to help build their confidence. This role allowed me to give back and support children who are going through similar struggles that I faced.

The cost of living is tough for everyone right now, but even the smallest donation can make a huge difference for a child in foster care. Your contribution can provide them with the essentials they lack and help them feel less alone in a world that often feels like it has abandoned them.

This National Pyjama Day, I’m asking for your support. Please consider donating whatever you can to help these children. Your generosity can provide them with the opportunities and support they need to thrive. Thank you for your kindness and for making a difference in the lives of foster children.

With heartfelt gratitude, Peta
