National Pyjama Week: Building Kind Hearts, Changing Lives
At Sandon Point Children's Centre, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported to thrive. We are committed to fostering a strong sense of community and active citizenship by encouraging children, families, and educators to show kindness, empathy, and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
This is why we are proudly participating in National Pyjama Week.
Children in foster care often experience frequent changes to their homes, schools, and daily routines. These disruptions can impact their sense of belonging, learning, relationships, and overall wellbeing. With the support of caring adults, children can develop the confidence, resilience, and skills they need to flourish.
By wearing our pyjamas and raising funds, the Sandon Point Children's Centre community is helping The Pyjama Foundation provide children in foster care with a dedicated Pyjama Angel mentor. These trained volunteers spend time reading, learning, listening, and building trusting relationships that nurture confidence, improve literacy, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.
Participating in National Pyjama Week provides a meaningful opportunity for our children to learn about empathy, fairness, inclusion, and active citizenship. Together, we are demonstrating that everyone can make a positive contribution to their community, and that even small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact on the lives of others.
We invite our families to join us by wearing their favourite pyjamas and, if they are able, making a donation to support this wonderful cause. Every contribution helps provide children in foster care with the encouragement, stability, and opportunities they deserve.
Thank you for helping the Sandon Point Children's Centre community make a meaningful difference, one pair of pyjamas at a time.
