International Day of the Girl Child
International Day of the Girl, taking place on October 11th, brings awareness to gender quality, and to the community-wide benefits of empowering and educating girls.
In 2023, FCM Meetings & Events have partnered with The Pyjama Foundation to help support the young girls in the Australian foster care system.
You can show your support by donating to their Love of Learning program, which allows ‘Pyjama Angels’ to mentor and support these young girls around the country.
All donations of $2 and over are tax deductible.
About The Pyjama Foundation
The Pyjama Foundation was founded in 2004 to give children in foster care the opportunity to change the direction of their lives with learning, life skills, and confidence.
Alarmed at the statistics highlighting poor literacy and numeracy levels of children in care, and how this contributes to a lifetime of disadvantage, founder Bronwyn Sheehan OAM made the decision to offer hope and a more positive outlook for these children.
Through a simple program known as the Love of Learning Program, volunteers called Pyjama Angels are matched with a child in care, and spend just one hour a week focusing on learning based activities.
