Help a foster child achieve their dreams
Every dollar raised goes directly to The Pyjama Foundation's Love of Learning mentoring Program.
Every hour, 2 children enter the foster care system in Australia.
It’s hard to imagine the trauma a child goes through when they enter the foster care system. These children, are removed from their original homes for their own health and safety.
Many have experienced trauma, neglect and instability at a young age. It impacts their confidence, their ability to trust others, and their core foundation for learning.
The Pyjama Foundation was created to provide children in care with a world full of unlimited opportunity, to create positive relationships, and instil a love of learning.
Volunteer 'Pyjama Angel' mentors provide one-on-one support to children in care by visiting them once a week to empower them with learning, life skills and confidence to reach their full potential.

“The more healthy relationships a child has, the more likely they will be to change and recover from trauma and thrive. Relationships are the agents of change and the most powerful therapy is human love.”

How my Pyjama Angel changed my life
In their 16-year friendship, Jenny and Ashley have conquered challenges, especially Ashley, who was born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
Born into a world where milestones seemed unreachable, Ashley's journey epitomises resilience, fueled by Jenny's (his Pyjama Angel) unflappable support.
Despite obstacles, Jenny, nurtured his strengths and instilled confidence and vital skills. Jenny's focus on alternative paths helped transformed Ashley into a kind and empathetic young man. Their friendship, now resembles extended family.
Jenny's commitment to Ashley's growth persisted into adulthood, overcoming challenges together. These days, you will find them every week building vital life skills like learning how to shop, how to cook and write resumes.
Their journey reflects the power of mentorship, demonstrating that with dedicated support, one can overcome obstacles and thrive.
Testimonials
"A Pyjama Angel makes a child feel special. They bring fun and laughter into a child’s life without stress or hidden agenda.
They communicate with a child and make them feel safe. I have no hesitation in recommending this program to other carers. All children should have a Pyjama Angel. "
– Foster Carer
“I personally think that Sarah has helped me through my most difficult phases of high school and only wants the best for me. I owe all of my academic success to her and she's greatly impacted my life. I am extremely grateful to both her and Grandad, and I know that when I go to her for advice, I'm in good hands. There isn't anything I can think of that Sarah would have to improve on.”
– Leila, 15 (Love of Learning Program Recipient)
"Being a Pyjama Angel has become one of the most rewarding things I've done with my life to date. It's now part of my identity. I have personally gained more from this organisation than I ever thought I would. The relationship I have with both my little cherub and her carers is so special to me."
